The deep learning technology „Global Context Anomaly Detection“ was integrated into MVTec HALCON in 2022 and is a world first in this form. The independent expert jury of inVISION now honored the development from MVTec as one of the Top Innovations 2023.

The deep learning technology "Global Context Anomaly Detection" opens up completely new application areas in the field of machine vision.

Until now, it has only been possible to detect structural anomalies strictly on a local level. The new Global Context Anomaly Detection feature is currently the only technology that can also “understand” the logical content of the entire image. The deep learning technology was developed by MVTec's in-house research department.

The technology is available as a feature in MVTec's software products HALCON and MERLIC. More information about the award by the independent jury of inVISION can be found here (German only).
